Originally used in the fishing industry as a strong fishing line, the thread was adopted by the jewelry making community and has been super popular ever since. Fireline comes in 5 sizes: 2lb. test strength with a .003”/.07mm diameter, 4lb. test with a .005”/.12mm diameter, 6lb. test with a .006”/.15mm diameter, 8lb. test with a .007”/.17mm diameter, 10lb. test with a .008”/.20mm diameters and 14lb. test with a .009”/.22mm diameter. The spools come in a variety of lengths and in 3 colors: clear, black and smoke grey. For stringing and weaving we suggest English beading needles. Use a #12 for 2-6lb. test and a #10 for larger diameters. To finish off your Fireline jewelry your best option is a thread burner. The Beadsmith Thread Zappers are a perfect solution.
