Orbita's "MADE IN THE USA" Sparta Deluxe in Burl wood (pictured in TEAK) is powered by High-Energy Lithium Batteries providing a minimum of 5 years of battery service life. Orbita's Sparta Deluxe uses it's patented ROTORWIND movement, featuring sturdy ball-bearing construction and solid-state controls to insure long and maintenance-free life. Rotorwind swings an automatic watch, rather than rotating it, mimicking the natural action of the wrist. Every 10 minutes (standard program) or every 15 minutes (extended program), the internal control micro-processor signals the drive motor to make a single turn, causing the watch to swing back and forth for several oscillations just as it would if it were being worn on the wrist. With a series of oscillations triggered by a single revolution of a low-current draw-drive motor, power is only needed for a few seconds every 10 or 15 minutes.
