ProductDescription : LN Engineering RS Roller IMS Retrofit 106-08.4R intermediate shaft bearing upgrade kit compatible with 1997-2001* Porsche Boxster and 911 (996) M96 engines originally equipped with a dual row Porsche IMS bearing. Replaces the original sealed dual row conventional ball bearing with a cylindrical roller bearing using included spacers. Cylindrical roller bearings provide great lateral load capacity, sacrificing their maximum load cap in thrust (axial movement). That’s why precise thrust control is crucial for bearing’s longevity and reliability. RND RS Roller IMS Retrofit kit is the only solution on the market that uses proper heat treated, 52100 bearing steel thrust surfaces on both sides. Features a genuine Koyo NUP204E or equivalent Genuine FAG, SKF, or NSK bearing. Only the best cylindrical roller bearing we could source for our RS Roller IMS Retrofit Kit. Manufactured by LN Engineering LLC for RND Engines, The RND RS Roller IMS Retrofit Bearing Replacement sports a 2-year/24,000 miles limited parts warranty with professional installation, proper IMS procedure pre-qualification, and qualifying bearing registration. The RND RS Roller IMS Bearing Replacement has a recommended service interval 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. *Model year 2000 and 2001 engines came from the factory with either a dual row or a single row bearing IMS. You can identify which bearing your engine has by inspecting the factory IMS flange; a single row flange measures 19.27mm deep and a dual row flange measures 13.34mm deep. If the engine in your car is not original, it will have whatever the current IMS bearing that was being used for that model year; please note that engines with a late 2005 and all 2006 and later engines will have a non-serviceable IMS bearing that cannot be replaced without complete engine disassembly.
