ProductDescription : Tartan B is a superior 6011 alternative designed for mild and low alloy steels, offering deep penetration deposits without slag interference. It excels in maintenance welding, producing high-strength, non-porous welds on pipe in tight corners and overhead. Tartan B can weld over dirt, oil, rust, and paint, making it ideal for tough conditions and repairs. With an 80,000 psi strength and a wide range of amperage, Tartan B is especially effective on galvanized steel. It allows for easy vertical and overhead welding, and can be run pass-on-pass over slag, ensuring consistent, reliable results in challenging environments. Application: Hold electrode at a slight incline in the direction of travel. For vertical or overhead welds lower amperage setting, weave and move fast enough to prevent weld puddle from dropping. When welding on galvanized steel we recommend using GalvCoat, our premium zinc spray, for after weld coatings. (For more info see Chemical Aids in the Abrasives & Metal Working products section
