Low-Manganese Product Line Rutile, Cellulosic & Basic Coated Metal Arc Welding Electrodes with Reduced Emission of Manganese
Standards: AWS A5.1 E6013, E6011, E7018 H4
Any experienced welder knows manganese (Mn) is a very important and essential alloying element in steel. Together with carbon, Mn is responsible for the hardness and strength of steel, significantly improves the plasticity of steel and its toughness.
THE PROBLEM As good as Mn is for steel, it is even worse as a health hazard when it evaporates while welding, causing high concentrations of Mn compounds in the work area of the welder and other workers. Prolonged inhalation of Mn compounds is potentially very harmful, it may cause irreversible damage to health.
Over the last few decades, international hygienic regulations have been significantly reducing the allowed exposure level to Mn compounds. This is the reason for the push to develop a revolutionary solution to reduce hazardous Mn compounds emissions during welding. The Weldcote Metals Low-Manganese electrodes have a unique flux composition which supplies weld metal with significantly lowered manganese content and therefore dramatically decreases up to 60% manganese emission in welding fume in comparison with regular electrodes.
The new electrodes fulfill the required mechanical properties and the requirements of international standards.
The Low-Manganese Product Line is available in all three types of coating cellulose E6011, rutile E6013 and basic E7018.
