The Characteristics: Weldtool supplied 7018 is an extremely efficient general purpose, iron powder-low hydrogen electrode. Used for welding carbon steels, free-machining steels and low alloy steels. Our 7018 has a very good deposition rate, providing a steady, low spatter arc. Weld deposits are of X-ray quality with easy slag removal, exceptional mechanical properties and smooth uniform bead appearance. The Application: An excellent general purpose carbon steel, all position electrode in AC and DC (Reverse polarity). Specific applications include process piping, cold rolled steel welding, heavy machinery fabrications, fired and unfired pressure vessels, shop and field welding, bridges and structural steels, cast steels, shipbuilding etc. Typical Power requirements for 1/8" 7018, Flat Welding: 90-130amps, Overhead welding: 80-120amps, If You Need Something Different:.
