Perovskite quantum dots are composed of semiconductor crystals with perovskite structures, ranging in size from a few nanometers to dozens of nanometers. The perovskite structure is a cubic crystal structure with the universal chemical formula ABX 3, in which A and B are two different cations and X is an anion. The dimensions of perovskite quantum dots are smaller than their excitonic Bohr radius and exhibit quantum confinement effects, i. e., their optical and electrical properties are affected by their size and shape. It has many excellent properties, such as high light absorption rate, high fluorescence quantum yield, narrow emission line, wide spectral coverage, emission wavelength tunable, etc. Compared with ordinary perovskite materials, perovskite quantum dots are more stable and crystal phase adjustable.
