Editorial Review
Sewing Pattern -1854-1870 Fitted Shirt With Attached Collar, Plaited Front and French Cuffs Pattern - Sewing Pattern. Chest Sizes 34-54" chest included. The original shirt is in the collections at the Lincoln Log Cabin Historical Site. The square cut, drop-shouldered style that can be more fitted, is the most common style of the first half of the 19th century. The suggested fabrics are: Cotton sheeting for the body and a fine linen for the collars, cuffs and plaited fronts. You may also make the entire shirt of a cotton calico and the detachable collar out of a cotton or linen. This shirt style with multiple cutting lines for all sizes are contained in one pattern package. Chest sizes 34-40 require 3 Yds. of 45 inch wide fabric; chest sizes 42-54" require 3-7/8 Yards. of 45 inch wide fabric. Perfect for an 1800's Wild West or Civil War Era period accurate shirt. Also excellent for Johnny Depp's shirt as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, 2010. Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, Alice In Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Mad Hatter shirt, Mad Hatter shirt, Johnny Depp's shirt, Mad Hatter shirts. Examples of Steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" for such technology as dirigibles, analog computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage's Analytical engine that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of Steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; in other words, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc. This technology may include such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne or real technologies like the computer but developed earlier in an alternate history. Other examples of Steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken."
