How to Use? Put the cooked rice into the Hangiri. Mix rice vinegar with salt and sugar and strain through the rice. This is easiest if you make grooves in the rice using a fork and pour the rice wine vinegar blend over the middle of the rice. Then use the fork to mix everything together thoroughly and set aside to allow it to cool for another 20-30 minutes.
Cleaning: After use, the Hangiri should first be rinsed in clear water (without soap or chemical agents). Ensure that the Hangiri does not stay submersed for too long or left to stand in a moist state. This can cause mould to form or the wood to peel off.
After rinsing, any rice residues can simply be brushed off. Then dab the clean Hangiri with a dry cotton cloth and place the bowl in a shady place for further drying (not in direct sunlight).
