Pacific Merchants classic Calabash wooden fruit bowls will not crack or fall apart like other bowl makers, who sell acacia wood serving bowls by gluing strips or little pieces of acacia wood together, which is called lamination. If a glued laminated bowl is placed into the dishwasher, the heat will melt the glue and the bowl falls apart. This will not happen to a Pacific Merchants Calabash solid wood serving bowl or large salad serving bowl. Our wooden serving bowls are not dishwasher safe but if you accidentally put one in the dishwasher, it will not fall apart. Acaciaware is easy care! Simply hand wash with warm soapy water and air dry. Acacia wood bowls are not microwave safe.
