Nut serts provide a strong thread in thin materials that cannot be tapped

Requires access to only one side of the work piece, nut can be installed after painting or other finishing operations to provide a robust screw anchor therefore eliminating problems of welding and material distortion

Once installed they are permanently attached to the mating material, allowing the associated nut to be removed in service without risk of the fastener becoming dislodged
