SpiroPure SP-CC1-10 Catalytic Carbon Water Filters consist of coconut shell GAC (granular activated carbon) catalytic carbon filter media. The GAC carbon is highly activated, which gives it a much higher absorption rate of certain chemicals, particularly of chloramines. Most carbon filters have little to no reduction of chloramines.
