The MISCO VINO6 Digital Wine Refractometer was developed specifically for the international wine industry and professional viticulturists. Post-distillation, it will measure Specific Gravity and the actual Alcohol by Volume of a particular finished wine and therefore is ideal for vineyards and wineries where quality and the highest precision are demanded.

The actual Alcohol by Volume of a particular finished wine may also be established following a distillation method recognized by international bodies. After distilling a small volume of wine, the ethanol distillate is measured on the Palm Abbe Digital Wine/Alcohol Refractometer and the actual alcoholic strength (percent by volume) or specific gravity is displayed. (NOTE: It is impossible to measure the alcohol content of wine by directly measuring finished wine on a refractometer. The wine must first be distilled and then the distillate is tested on the alcohol scale.).
