ProductDescription : Douglas small plastic insert bushing for swivel tilt caster chair or bar stool. This replacement part is the original small Douglas OEM plastic insert bushing. Purchase this part when your old part breaks and a replacement is needed in order to repair to make your Douglas chair or bar stools function normally. Installation Instructions: First, place the plastic insert inside the hole of the seat post column. DO NOT attach the plastic insert bushing to the 1" metal shaft that is welded to your swivel tilt mechanism first. Then hit down on the plastic insert with a rubber mallet until the top of the insert is flush with the top of your seat post column. If you don't have a rubber mallet, take a thick piece of wood and place it on top of the insert and gently hit down on the wood with a regular hammer. We highly recommend lubricating the part with white lithium grease prior to installation. PRO TIP: The warmer the plastic insert bushing is, the easier it is to install because it becomes more pliable. Feel free to heat the insert up with a blow dryer or even in a hot pot of water. PLEASE BE CAREFUL when installing. The replacement part is supposed to fit super tight, almost like it is welded to the seat post column. Once your new Douglas small plastic insert is properly installed into the seat post column the part should be completely solid with no movement.
