Product description: suitable for Detroit diesel series 60 engine, cam gear fixing tool J-35652-A instead of OEM M30116

Installation using tools:

1. Insert the shoe seat of the camshaft drive gear torque holding tool J-35652-A into the weight reduction hole of the camshaft drive gear.

2. Use the 3/4-inch square hole in the center of the crankshaft pulley to gently lift the engine so that the bolt holes on the fixing tool are aligned with the bolt holes on the inspection cover on the gearbox cover.

3. Install the camshaft drive gear torque holding tool J-35652-A on the gear box and engage with one of the lightening holes on the camshaft drive gear. Use two access cover bolts to secure the tool to the gearbox cover.

4. Using a 3/4 inch long drive circuit breaker lever and a 27 mm impact sleeve, remove the camshaft drive gear mounting bolts. Discard the bolts.

5. Remove the camshaft drive gear torque fixing tool J-35652-A from the gear box cover.

6. Insert a clean workshop towel into the opening of the gear box to prevent the removed bolts from falling into the gear box.

Note: Do not let bolts or workshop towels fall into the gear box. Failure to remove loose bolts or shop towels from the gearbox may cause serious damage to the gear train when the engine is started.

7. Carefully remove the three (current) or two (previous) camshaft thrust plate mounting bolts to prevent them from falling into the gear box.

Function:

The tool is designed to be installed in the gearbox and mesh with the shock-absorbing hole on the camshaft drive gear.

This tool is used to correctly keep the cam device fixed without damage when removing/installing the cam device fixing bolt.
