ProductDescription : SET OF 2 (ships in 1 Box). The Green Cone was developed in the UK for breaking down virtually all food waste without the need for power or supervision. This in-ground, solar waste digester uses heat from the sun to generate high internal temperatures for exceptionally fast microbial activity. The air chamber created by the dual cones allows for passive convection currents to continually move fresh air through the system, providing the necessary oxygen to maintain aerobic conditions (which helps mitigate foul odors). This dual-walled design also insulates the waste during the winter months, allowing for year-round use in most climates and elevations. Protected, underground basket is difficult for hungry critters or curious pets to access, but easy to empty when filled with finished compost. Expect to empty the basket every 12-18 months. The system provides sufficient capacity to digest 1.5-2 lbs of food waste per day (scraps from 3-5 adults). Powered by the sun and beneficial microbes, the Green Cone may also be used to effectively break down solid pet poop (no urine please) --- and, during emergency situations, human solid waste. Environmental benefits include: reduced carbon footprint, diversion of food waste from methane-generating landfills and elimination of transport pollution from dump trucks.
