INSTALLATION:

SOFT WOOD:
When use this 1/4-20 threaded inserts in softer woods and plywood, inserts outside threads cut easily into the wood, so simply drill a hole sized for the body of the insert, and screw it into place.
Recommended drilling hole size for Soft Wood: 8.5mm, 9mm, 3/8 inch.(Please choose the proper drill bit according to the hardness of your material)


PLEASE NOTE: Thread Diameter for 1/4-20 x 15mm / 20mm is 0.410" / 10.4mm.

PLEASE NOTE: Thread Diameter for 1/4-20 x 10mm is 0.389" / 9.9mm.


HARD WOOD: (Be careful with hard materials)
When use this 1/4-20 threaded inserts in hard woods such as white oak and maple, drill a hole sized that close to the outside threads diameter. If the drilled hole is too small for the threads, screwing it in MAY split the wood or the insert nut.
Recommended drilling hole size for Hard Wood: 3/8 inch ,10mm
[10mm sized hole is not for 1/4-20 x 10mm threaded insert as the out thread diameter is only 9.9mm]
