Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) is an instrument that analyzes measurement curves to understand the uniformity, defects, fractures, joint coupling, and other properties of optical fibers. It is made based on the backward scattering of light and the inverse principle of Fresnel, using the backward scattered light generated when light propagates in the optical fiber to obtain attenuation information. It can be used to measure fiber attenuation, joint loss, locate fiber fault points, and understand the loss distribution along the length of the fiber.
