This unit is a personal and portable unit that can be worn clipped to your belt. It can sense lightning up to 40 miles away and can determine if a storm is approaching or departing. It has a loud audible alarm and multiple LED lights to approximate distance. Also, the number of alarm beeps will indicate the proximity of lightning.

The LD9 is a small, impact-resistant pager-like design that displays lightning strike distance, storm direction and battery life. It measures 2.85" x 1.85" x 0.75" and weighs only 2.75 oz. (w/o batteries). The LED's indicate ranges from 0- 6 miles, 6-12 miles, 12-24 miles and 20-40 miles.
