Italy France Semiconductor has released the second generation of laser ranging sensor. The new sensor VL53L0 is based on the successful FlightSense ™ Technology to achieve faster, farther and more accurate ranging, significantly improve the photo performance of mobile phones and tablets, and open up new application opportunities for robots, user detection, unmanned aerial vehicles, the Internet of Things and wearable devices. VL53L0 has become the world's smallest ToF (Time of Flight) module, and is also the first range sensor integrating 940 nm VCSEL light source, SPAD photon detector and advanced microcontroller (managing the entire range function). The market's first module using 940 nm emission light, combined with advanced infrared filter, VL53L0 has the best anti-interference performance of ambient light in the industry, minimizing the impact of ambient light.
