It is crafted from ABS plastic material and features a non-glare matte finish on the interior surface to limit lens flare further. The hood allows you to put on a 82mm filter or lens cap. It also incorporates a filter adjustment window, which benefits the use of rotating filter types (e.g. polarizers and variable NDs) without needing to remove the hood.
