TIPS: Industry standard specification for 10 mil laminating pouches is 10 mils on each flap for a total of 20 mils added to your paper sheet. 1 mil equals 1/1000th of an inch (or 25 microns metric). Laminating pouches are sealed on only one edge and open on the other three (like a folder).
Some pouch laminators are capable of no more than 5 mil pouches (10 mil total pouch thickness). Laminators with either variable speed or adjustable temperature are likely to seal thicker pouches.
