This grade is recommended for cutting steel, cast iron and stainless steel. TiN is an excellent general purpose PVD coating for cutting most materials. TiN provides excellent wear resistance and allows increased cutting rates. TiN increases lubricity at the cutting edge which reduces galling and welding.
