Description:
The AD9833 is a low-power, programmable module capable of generating sine wave, triangle wave, and square wave outputs. It is required for various types of waveform detection, driving, and time-domain reflectometer (TDR) applications. The output frequency and phase can be programmed via software for easy tuning without the need for external components.
The frequency register is 28 bits wide: with a 25 MHz clock frequency, it achieves a resolution of 0.1 Hz; the clock rate of the AD9833 is 1 MHz, tunable to a resolution of 0.004 Hz.
The AD9833 features a standard serial interface, allowing the device to interface directly with different microprocessors. Data or information is written to the controller device using an external serial clock. The AD9833 is written via a wired serial interface.
This serial interface operates at clock frequencies of up to 40 MHz and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller standards.
The device is powered by a supply voltage of 2.3V to 5.5V and features a sleep function, allowing unused portions of the device to be turned off to minimize current consumption. For example, when generating the output clock, the DAC can be turned off.
