Hold the device in the unaffected hand2. Pull the slide all the way back until it swings down with the palm pad to enlarge the opening3. Insert the affected finger until the PIP joint rests between the two upper pads4. Swing the slide back up and into place under the fingertip5. Press the slide forward to apply pressure and set the ratchet at maximum extension6. Monitor fingertip and relieve pressure if circulation or sensation is lost7.
