Matters needing attention
(1) When filtering, the funnel should be placed on the funnel rack, the lower end of the funnel handle should be close to the inner wall of the container filter paper should be close to the inner wall of the funnel, the edge of the filter paper should be about 5mm lower than the edge of the funnel, and no residual bubbles should be moistened with distilled water in advance.
(2) When the separator is poured, it should flow into the funnel along the glass rod, and the glass rod and the filter paper are close to the third layer. The liquid level of the separation should be lower than the edge of the filter paper.
(3) The sediment in the funnel shall not exceed the height of the filter paper, which is easy to wash the precipitation after filtration.
(4) The funnel cannot be heated by direct fire. If it is necessary to filter while hot, the funnel should be placed in a metal heating jacket. If there is no metal jacket, the funnel can be soaked in hot water to preheat before use.
