ProductDescription :

Fineness of grind gages are also called grind gages and Hegman gages. The physical properties of the resulting dispersions, often called “grinds”, depend not only on the actual size of the individual particles, but also on the degree to which they are dispersed.

The Fineness of Grind Gage is used to indicate the fineness of grind or the presence of coarse particles or agglomerates in a dispersion. It does not determine particle size or used in controlling the production, storage, and application of dispersion products produced by milling in the paints, plastic, pigments, lacquers, filler, chocolate, printing ink, paper, ceramic, pharmaceutical, food, and many other industries.

Testing principle
The Grindometer was developed to establish the fineness of grind of coating materials. The instrument is used to produce a liquid wedge-shaped specimen of the test substance. It can be easily ascertained by visual examination where the grain size is larger than the local dimensions of the wedge channel. A reading of the appropriate channel depth is taken at the boundary between the uneven and the smooth surface areas of the sample. This value determines the fineness of grind.

The fineness plate is a flat steel block with grooves on the surface, and the depth of the grooves ranges from the maximum value at one end to the zero value at the other end. The steel block is engraved with a scale unit indicating the depth of the groove to read the size of the particle value.
