Crystals start at ~1mm and expand to 3–4mm when hydrated. Best Water to Use: Distilled water works best. Tap water may reduce expansion slightly due to natural minerals. For Insects: Place hydrated crystals in a shallow dish to provide a safe, drown-free water source for crickets, roaches, dubias, and more. For Plants: Mix dry crystals into soil before watering. Use in potted plants or gardens to retain moisture and reduce watering frequency. Pots: Mix crystals into soil, leaving 1 inch from the top. Water thoroughly. Garden Rows: Use 7–8 teaspoons per 6-foot row, mixing evenly into the soil. These crystals reduce the risk of drowning in insect colonies and help plants thrive by holding water at the root level.
