1.
When using calomel electrode, the rubber caps on the side and end
should be removed first, so that the salt bridge solution can pass
through the measured solution with a certain velocity of gravity
dimension.
2. There
should be no bubbles in the potassium chloride solution inside the
electrode, and a few potassium chloride crystals should be retained in
the solution.
3.
During measurement, the salt bridge solution level of calomel electrode
should be slightly higher than the tested solution level to prevent the
tested solution from back diffusion to the calomel electrode.
4.
Because the electrode potential of calomel electrode has a large
negative temperature coefficient and thermal hysteresis, temperature
fluctuation should be prevented during measurement. Accurate measurement
should be constant temperature.
5.
If the measured solution is found to stain the collaterals of calomel
electrode liquid, scale should be scraped off at any time.
6. Calomel electrode is generally not suitable for use in an environment above 70.
7. When the electrode surface with potassium chloride solution and crystals, should be removed at any time.
8. Potential changes caused by calomel electrode photolysis should be avoided from light when using and storing.
9.
Double salt-bridge saturated calomel electrode (type 217) with outer
casing can be used as general saturated calomel electrode if the outer
casing is removed. When determining samples susceptible to K or Cl_
interference, fill the outer tube with an appropriate solution. For
example: when measuring K with potassium electrode, charge 0.1mliAC;
0.1MKNO3 was charged when the chlorine electrode was used to measure
Cl_. When measuring S2 - with sulfur electrode, charge 1MKNO3; And so
on.
