Figure 1 is the schematic diagram of the principle of electrochemical deposition of metal nanowire arrays using dual pass AAO templates. First, a continuous conductive metal layer should be prepared on one side of the dual pass AAO template. Magnetron sputtering, electron beam evaporation, thermal evaporation and other methods can be used. The conductive metal layer can be gold, silver, etc. The thickness of the conductive metal layer should be thicker (for example, the thickness is 1000nm). The hole of AAO must be completely blocked to form a continuous metal layer. Then, appropriate electrochemical deposition solution and deposition conditions (such as current, voltage, time) are used for electrochemical deposition. Due to the limitation of template holes, metal nanowires are formed. During the deposition process, the opposite side of the conductive metal layer of AAO (here called the front side of AAO) is required to be immersed in the electrochemical deposition solution, and the hole is filled with solution, while the opposite side of the conductive metal layer (the reverse side of the metal layer) must not contact the electrochemical deposition solution at all. In order to meet this requirement and facilitate the installation and removal of AAO templates, we have developed a special bracket for electrochemical deposition of double pass AAO templates, as shown in Figure 2.
