ProductDescription : This is a high quality digital k-type thermometer for contact temperature measurements. It has two inputs for K-type thermocouples and can display T1 or T2. It also allows to display the differential temperature T1-T2 . This scientific thermometer is great for education in school, college or university, because it can display the accurate temperature in 3 measurement systems: degree Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (°F) and the scientific temperature unit Kelvin. It will display the temperature in 0.1 degree °F, °C or K steps. This makes it a great thermocouple thermometer for science lab or projects in chemistry, physics or biology. This scientific thermometer also can be used in industrial and manufacturing applications, such as the HVAC trade to check air conditioners, heaters or furnaces, in automotive on cars, trucks and vans. It conveniently allows to measure an inlet and an outlet temperature. This electronic thermometer used in re-flowing of electronics and to measure the temperature on computer chips or components. It comes with two 3 ft (~ 0.92 m) temperature probes, they have a FEP plastic insulation and work up to about 390°F (200°C) , but any other K-type probe with a miniature thermocouple connector can be used. To use the thermometer for temperatures above 500 degree use a stainless steel insertion k-type thermocouple probes. This thermometer also is frequently used by home brewers to measure the temperature of water baths and mash. There are many other hobby applications where this affordable thermometer is useful. Because of the very low temperature measuring capability it can be used to measure liquid nitrogen or dry ice temperatures. The very high upper temperature allows the use in high temperature furnaces, kilns, forge and metal working applications. In this case you would need to order a k-type thermocouple with mineral fiber insulation (e.g. the thermocouple PK-1000 or the CR-2 kiln probes). Four AAA batteries are included.
