The heat will scorch leather or nylon. The correct temperature to heat press the iron on patch is 270 degrees Fahrenheit. The patch should be pressed on for at least 12 seconds using an industrial heat press. We do not recommend ironing on a large back patch with a household iron. The results will not be a permanent attachment unless a heat press is used. Maintaining the correct temperature is very important. The idea is to activate the glue.
