The INA240 device is a voltage-output, current-detecting amplifier with enhanced PWM suppression that detects voltage drops across shunt resistors in a wide common-mode voltage range from -4V to 80V independent of the supply voltage. The negative common-mode voltage allows the operating voltage of the device to be lower than the ground voltage, thus adapting the flyback period low power consumption of typical solenoid applications is a key issue. The enhanced PWM suppression capability provides a high level of suppression for large common-mode transients (△V/△t) in systems that use pulse width modulation (PWM) signals, such as motor drive and solenoid control systems. With this function, the current can be accurately measured without large transient and corresponding recovery ripple of the output voltage.
