These fittings are also known as single ferrule. They have a simpler design than double ferrules. Compression fittings are made to DIN 2353, ISO 8434-1, and DIN EN 3851 standards. These fittings are available in 3 series; S, L, and LL. Each series is made to suit different pressure needs. S series (high pressure) fitting has a working pressure of 315 to 630 bars, while L series (light pressure) fitting has a working pressure between 160 to 315 bars. The lowest pressure (LL) series is 100 bars. Compression fittings can be assembled and reassembled many times. Fittings vary in design but they are all made up of three parts; Body, nut, and sleeve. The benefits offered by compression fitting are fewer leak paths, dampens vibration, flexibility, and ease of installation. To install a compression fitting, place the ring and nut over the tube. Then, use a pre-assembly tool and insert the tube up to tube abutment and tighten it with 1 1/4 turns. Remove the pre-assembly tool and untighten it. Remove the nut to see if there is any visible ring formed over the tube. Use a wrench to tighten the nut with the fitting body in an upward position until there is a noticeable feeling in increase of torque and further tighten the nut ¼ turn. Single ferrule male connector connects male and female tubes together. It has one threaded male end, and one compression end.
