ProductDescription : Pilot operated check valves are used to allow flow in one direction and not the other unless the pressure from a separate circuit is sufficient to pilot open the check valve. This is commonly used if you want to insure an actuator (cylinder or motor) will not move unless the valve is shifted. For example: An A port check valve will prevent flow coming back from the actuator unless the valve is shifted to pressurize the B port and pilot opening the A port to allow the actuator to move. The AB pilot operated check valve is commonly used to hold an actuator from moving in either direction unless the control valve mounted on top is shifted. Spool type directional control valves leak by design, allowing the actuators to drift over time. By adding an A and B port check valve the actuator will hold position in both directions for a long time.
