It delivers great results, and less toxic than black pitch. This is a natural product, so therefore it can have subtle differences from batch to batch. To use, place the pitch in a suitable pitch bowl and heat in an 250°F to 300°F oven. The melting temperature is low enough that you can safely manipulate and shape the pitch by hand after heating. Red pitch does not have to be burned off. Safety Tip: When handling molten pitch, wearing eye protection and a long sleeve shirt are very important. Do not boil pitch; it is not recommended.
