The particle size of LFA's MCC 102 has a minimal bulk density of 0.4g/cm3 and an average particle size of 100 microns to increase the flow characteristics of fine powders. Compressibility and binding are both unquestionable characteristics of Microcrystalline Cellulose, as it is commonly used in dry blend and dry granulation processes. It can also be used as a binder in wet-granulation due to its insolubility in water. Compared to other binding agents, MCC 102 provides the optimal degree of brittleness while staying lubricant sensitive. Generally recognized as safe (GRAS), Microcrystalline Cellulose is acceptable for both food and pharmaceutical products. It is a calorie-free source of dietary fiber.
