This highly detailed shelter, designed by Claire Murray, adds a delightfully architectural look to your bird garden. The rectangular frame and wealth of window shapes replicates the traditional, sprawling Colonial homes of the designer's Nantucket residence. The white on the fence around the perimeter of the item, around each faux window, and on the generous widow's walk atop the roof perfectly contrasts the soft blue color of the home, while the bright red door completes the piece. Two dormers and a chimney shape also adorn the pitched roof, and its cedar shingles create a remarkable home. A 1.25" diameter entry hole rests on two sides of the home, creating two separate compartments for birds to roost. The back panel removes for cleaning and nest checks, and a gap at the top of this panel keeps the home nicely ventilated. Two drainage holes on the base ensure any captured water exits the nest, and its green color mimics grass. Attach a mounting plate (not included) to this platform to post mount the item in moments.
