A bass trap is a type of acoustic treatment panel that helps reduce problems in the low-end of the frequency response of a room. You're not actually going to be trapping any bass. Low-frequency sound waves are way too long to fit into any conveniently sized bass “trap”. You’re actually going to be absorbing bass energ, in other words, deading it by converting it to heat.
